Recent title: My Darling from the Lions, by Janice Barrett Graham
Mission Statement: Tidal Wave Books is dedicated to sharing well-written, thought-provoking literature focused directly or metaphorically on Jesus Christ, aimed at applications of basic gospel principles to life experiences of all kinds. We believe transcendent spiritual truths (agency, intrinsic worth, repentance, change of heart, divine guidance) are available to every child of God and can be applied to our everyday experiences for our eternal welfare, to the benefit of others, and to the glory of our Heavenly Father. We also believe we often miss these truths because we are distracted by sociology (human relationships and culture) and piosity (outward performances). All principles presented must be in keeping with the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but should be fashioned to appeal to people of all faiths.
Tips: Though our focus may seem extremely narrow, it can actually encompass every aspect oflife. There are no genres or subjects we will not approach, as long as gospel solutions are the underlying emphasis. Study Madeleine L'Engle's Walking on Water, Reflections on Faith & Art, any writings of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien etc. Look for spiritual truths, as opposed to philosophies of men, in good books and movies.
